We had a number of events this past year, and being so overbooked we even postponed our Annual Meeting. We have however, already scheduled our 7th Annual Teal Tea for Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Stone Terrace by John Henry in Hamilton Square, New Jersey. We will also present a Spring Bingo featuring technology items, watches, tools, along with some favorite handbags. In 2012 we said a sad good-bye to two retiring Advisory Board members: Dr. Lorna Rodriguez, Cancer Institute of New Jersey has assumed a new position at CINJ and moves on to focus on her research; she was one of our first Advisory Board members and she will be greatly missed. Anne Gale, Survivor and past Vice President and Corporate Secretary at ETS, who after four years of dedicated services is moving on to enjoy her retirement. She will continue to support the Foundation behind the scenes. Anne has been an active chairperson and will be truly missed. We continued to recruit new Advisory Board members and in the spirit of renewed energy and excitement, we welcomed two new members: Dr. Darlene Gibbon, Chief of Oncology Gynecology, at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey and Ruby Chan, Executive Adjutant ETS Research & Development. Members of the Teal Tea Foundation had the opportunity to support their “sister” foundation, The Elixir Fund, on Sunday, September 30 at Mercer Oaks in Princeton.  Led by Executive Director, Meg McQuarrie, the Elixir Fund honors Meg’s brother, Kevin,
who lost his fight to cancer.  Kevin called his chemotherapy treatments, his “Elixir”.  He asked his friends and family to do so as well.  As a result, the Elixir fund developed a philosophy of helping cancer patients and their care givers through the cancer
journey in a way that makes the experience more positive and bearable.  The Teal Tea Foundation works closely with the Elixir Fund in a partnership of sustaining and helping each other achieve their missions.  The Elixir Fund is national, so it has the resources and  contacts to reach out and find answers for patients and care-givers on a huge geographical scale.
