May 6, 2012 marked the 6th time family and friends gathered for an afternoon of fun, awareness and encouragement in support of the Teal Tea Foundation.

The annual event featured the CEO of Fox Chase Cancer Center, Dr. Michael V. Seiden, as the Keynote speaker. Dr. Seiden shared four main points, but most importantly stressed the advancements in technology were very beneficial to determining and understanding ovarian cancer.

Attendees were also entertained by sight and sound. Each table ( approximately 20) were decorated using teal in accordance with the year's theme, "Turning the World Teal Every Month of the Year"; several attendees sported their Sunday's Best Hat and participated in the Hat Parade to adoring fans; and several musical selections were provided by Min. William D. Carter III and Gabe Greenwood.

As if this was not enough, attendees were enlightened and encouraged by some survivors' stories; fascinated by the surprise gift and gamble of the Table of Teal prize boxes; and participated in silent and live auction to raise funds which will specifically go to fund ovarian cancer research initiatives.

This brief recap really cannot do the Annual Teal Tea justice, you'll just have to attend next year. See you there, the first Sunday in May 2013. Next year's theme: INSPIRE AWARENESS ACROSS THE DEEP TEAL SEAS
